History
1970
The foundation of Dr. Höhn – GT Styling by Dr. Roland Höhn. The company produced the exhaust systems for Formula 1 cars as well as service hardtops for pickups and camping hardtops based on VW T3 and VW T4.
The registered trade mark Road Ranger® was established.
1980
The establishment of Dr. Höhn GmbH in Ingelfingen, Germany.
1990
The foundation of the trading company Road Ranger GmbH und Co KG responsible for the growth of sales in the markets of Western Europe. The establishment of Dr Höhn Sp. z o.o. in Ostroda as a company of the Group, at that time responsible for the performance and quality of only two production processes: the painting and installation of camping hardtops. Launching the hardtop production line in the Ostroda factory. At the end of the 1990s, one of the first key moments in the company took place, i.e. signing the contract with Mitsubishi Motors Europe for the supply of original hardtops for the Mitsubishi L200 model.
2006
Due to the model change in Mitsubishi L200, a new model of original hardtop named DH02/DH03 was developed as part of the continuation of the contract with the European headquarters of Mitsubishi. In the same year, at the request of the European headquarters of Nissan Europe, we started the project for the development of a new hardtop, which was crowned by the success of signing the multi-year contract with Nissan Europe for the supply of original hardtops for Nissan Navara D40.
2008
The establishment of MKT Car Technik Sp. z o.o. as a trading company responsible for the distribution of Road Ranger® products.
2008 2009
Due to the spreading world crisis, which had a severe impact on the automotive sector, these two years were also trying for our Group. Thanks to the commitment and loyalty of our employees, we managed to survive that difficult period. What is more, those two years proved to be a breakthrough for our production process, because we introduced a number of innovative solutions and principles concerning the functioning of our factory in compliance with the latest international standards, which have been applicable so far.
Signing the contract with Isuzu Benelux S.A. for the supply of accessories for the D-Max model.
2010
We presented the Road Ranger products at the largest commercial vehicles show IAA in Hanover. We showed four special hardtops developed for VW Amarok, which made its debut during the fair.
The new production hall of 1100 m2 was constructed.
2011
The next step in the development of the technological process of our factory – the implementation of the 3D design and CAM milling modules using the first Motoman robot in our company which ultimately made us independent from third-party services and accelerated the manufacture of new products by 230%.
Signing the contract with the headquarters of Nissan Sales Central & Eastern Europe for the supply of accessories for the Navara model.
The new hall of 1600 m2 was constructed.
2012
The next edition of the IAA Show in Hanover where we presented eight versions of hardtops on Isuzu D-Max, Mitsubishi L200, Nissan Navara, Volkswagen Amarok.
Signing the contract with Ford Poland for the supply of accessories for the Ranger model.
We received the Volkswagen Premium Partner certificate.
2013
The extension of the machine park with a 5-axis CNC machine. By decision of the Management Board, the factory began to offer a wide range of services for external customers, including: milling, flocking, painting, laminating, thermoforming, construction of moulds etc.
2014
We met all the requirements of the manufacturer of original Volkswagen accessories, which resulted in a new project of the VW DC RH04 hardtop.
Once again, we participated in the IAA Show in Hanover.
2015 2016
The machine park received another CNC machine, which increases the productivity of the factory. The new hall of 1800 m2 was constructed. This year also initiated a high volume of work for the Construction and Technological Department due to launching new pickup models in the years 2015/2016: Volkswagen Amarok, Nissan Navara NP300, Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux Revo, Mitsubishi L200. Launching the rear door consisting of glass seated in thermoformed ABS frame to all new hardtop models, which reduces the risk of window damage during operation.
2018
Signing the contract with Volkswagen BUS for the supply of hardtops to the production line of Volkswagen Amarok.
